Privacy Policy
Quiet Mechanisms uses a private app called Shorts Control to create and upload videos to its own YouTube channel. This policy explains how that app handles Google user data.
Google access requested
The app requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload OAuth scope. The channel owner grants this permission in Google's sign-in flow. The app uses it to upload a video with its title, description, and the owner-selected Public, Unlisted, or Private visibility setting, then checks the resulting upload status. It does not use Google account data for advertising or profiling.
Data we store
The app stores the owner's OAuth authorization token on a private, owner-controlled server so scheduled uploads can run without repeated sign-in. It also stores video titles, descriptions, upload status, YouTube video IDs and URLs, and operational logs needed to track jobs and avoid duplicate uploads. The public informational pages do not ask visitors to create accounts or provide personal data.
Where data goes
OAuth credentials and Google user data are not sent to the AI services used to research, write, narrate, or illustrate videos. Finished video files and their upload metadata are sent to YouTube through the YouTube Data API. Google handles data on its services under the Google Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion
The app keeps its OAuth token until the owner revokes access or removes the app's server files. YouTube video IDs and links are removed from the live database within 29 days; database backups omit them. The worker checks its authorization while running and removes stored YouTube API IDs and links if Google reports that authorization has expired or been revoked. Locally created idea status, titles, and post dates remain until the owner deletes them. Backups are retained for up to 30 days. The owner can revoke the app's Google access at Google Account permissions or request deletion using the contact address below. Revoking access stops future uploads; removing a video already published on YouTube must be done through YouTube Studio.
